New tagline?

Socially Conscious. Empowering. Entertainment.

What does that mean anyway? If you’ve wondering the same, you’re not alone.

After sitting with this tag line for the past year or so, I’ve determined that it’s too difficult and confusing. It’s not that people can’t figure it out, they always do, but it doesn’t provide a clear indication as to what you can expect from Halogen.

So, I have a new tag line that I want to throw out to you, for your feedback:

Halogen: TV that makes a difference.

Love it? Hate it? Have your own suggestion? I want to hear from you.

Reality TV isn't entertainment. If you're just going to be another bland reality channel, please don't bother. We can get all of those shows on other networks.

    Other ideas:

    Halogen: Transcendent Entertainment
    Halogen: Transformative Television
    Halogen: The Group Element

    or, the 4 elements:

    Halogen:
    Justice. Connection. Beauty. Purpose

    How about "Transforming Entertainment"

I'm not a grammar guru so this may need to be double-checkd, but I think this phrase could be interpreted in 2 ways:

    1) "transforming" as a verb - meaning that Halogen is transforming the world of entertainment,

    as well as

    2) "transforming" as an adjective, meaning that the entertainment Halogen provides is tranforming lives
  • The new tagline is MUCH better than the old one, but don't stop brainstorming. How about:

    Halogen: Highly reactive television

    or maybe:

Halogen TV: Our gas is inert

In general, taglines make me cringe, with good reason.

    Witty/punny = lame
Self serving or self important = lame
Fake. pauses. with excessive. periods. = lame
Vague ("makes a difference") = meaningless and self important

If you must have one, make it short and descriptive, like 'Socially conscious TV', or "TV for the socially conscious" etc.

really like it! i think it makes you smile knowing just by watching you can make i difference, but its also enticing enough to make you want to find out more, and get involved. great work!
  • Hate it. TV is mind-numbing, it DEFINATELY doesn't make a difference - so it's just some lame marketing slogan read by this GenX'r and dismissed like all the others.

I'd love to watch some TV that could make me think - but I am the changer - a VP of Marketing slogans does not change things.....
  • Illuminating TV.

  • I love it.

I like it, there are shows that make a difference but only one channel one network.
  • Exactly!
  • i think it's too general.

    what about...

TV for those that gives a damn.
  • Perfect.

Definitely an improvement on the existing tagline (I think the punctuation was a big part of what made it confusing), but how does "TV that makes a difference" clearly distinguish Halogen from everything else out there? Extreme Makeover: Home Edition could, ostensibly, market itself as "TV that makes a difference."

Step in the right direction, but it feels a little bland... just my two cents.
  • Extreme Makeover would actually be a show that would work on our network...if we only had the budget. However, the difference between a *show* and a *network* is quite a bit in my mind. There isn't another network out there that's purpose for being is to make a difference, while entertaining our viewers. Yes, there are show, but not a network. Make sense?

I like it. It's much more clear, concise, and even sounds a bit more fun and entertaining. Sounds great!
  • I love it. I saw it on twitter, and it made me wanna see what Halogen TV was all about. I want to make a difference, so supporting Halogen TV is a given, knowing that a network's vision is aligned with mine. I vote YES for the new tagline.
